If you have decided to enjoy the patio environment in the nights, you will need to have two arrangements done. First is the lighting in the patio and the second is the heating in the patio. Nights are often very dark and you will need the perfect lighting to brighten your nights. There are two ways of lighting the patio. First is the natural lighting using the firewood and the second is by .using the artificial lights such as the bulbs and tube lights.

For lighting arrangements you can think of options of either decorating the walls or patio umbrellas if you have installed them in your patio. You can even think of localized lighting in your patio. The string lights are very common in lighting patios. They can be used on the patio umbrellas as well. They are easy to install and consume very less energy but before you think of the lighting options think of the source from where you will draw the energy.

When you are on the shopping spree for the lights for the patio umbrella, you will have to take the right measurements first. When you take the measurements, you will get the best idea of the length of the string lights. If you feel that the string lights will not give you the sufficient light, you can try out some other lights. One such light is the patio umbrella light. This light is attached to the patio umbrella pole. The wire of the light is either wound around the pole or taken out from one corner of the patio umbrella.

These days, the patio lights are wireless which means that they run on batteries such as the AA batteries or the AAA batteries. Some advanced patio umbrella lights just use rechargeable batteries so you don't have to spend more money on the new batteries all the time. If you are want some eco-friendly option for the lighting, you can use the solar powered patio heaters. The solar panel on the patio umbrellas store the energy from the sunlight and then this energy can be used in the night time.

The only disadvantage of the solar powered patio umbrella is that it is slightly expensive than the regular patio umbrella. Also, the energy stored may not be sufficient for longer durations of time. Apart from the lighting of the patio, you will also have to check out the heating options. The heating can be either natural that is by using firewood or artificial that is using the outdoor propane heaters. Both the natural and the artificial ways have their advantages and disadvantages.

When the fire wood burns, there are many specks of fire that are spread in all the directions and if the evening is very windy, there are chances that the specs of fire can even cause fire. Lots of precautions need to be taken when you are using the fire wood. You will also have to make a special fire place at different places to spread the warmth. In addition to the fire hazards, you will also have to take the trouble to light the fire and keep the fire burning.

The outdoor propane heaters are mostly used in places where the weather condition changes abruptly. These heaters can easily be shifted to one place to another depending upon the circumstances. Also they are available in different capacities so that you can choose the one that will be proper to heat up your patio.

The only thing that you need to worry about is the stock of fuel. So whenever you are planning a party, keep some additional fuel in store so that you do not run out of it. Some people prefer to have an additional fireplace so that it can be used in case of any malfunctioning of the heater or if it runs out of fuel.
